I have a bit of time in the next 2 weeks to choose my next tent, otherwise I'm going to be swamped with revision and before I know it it'll be too late to buy one before my first trip of the summer.

I was decided on the Terra Nova Voyager, but now I'm thinking of the MSR Hubba Hubba HP too. Obviously I want something light and as cheap as poss but theres not a whole load of difference in actual prices and weight between them...

Its going to be used for wild camping with my OH, I am pretty small and obviously we aren't averted to lying close together so inner size doesn't matter too much, but I'd like to be able to store 2 70L rucksacks either inside or in the porch.

Its going to be used mostly in summer in the pyrenees (my fave place!) so something that can stand up to some UV battering... but also want to use in spring - autumn in UK conditions (I'm not going to be going up Ben Nevis in winter though....)

Being quick to put up will be a plus, and also good ventilation options because can get really cold high up but then the next night when I'm camping closer to sea level it can be an oven...

Any suggestions of which would be best, or something completely different?

Have a look at the Vaude Power Taurus Ultralight - I'm well pleased with mine. Can be pitched as one or fly first. Can be put up in about 3 minutes.

Personally, never liked inner pitch first tents after ending up wth what looked like an indoor pool during a complete downpour....

A tent that is supported by trekking poles, such as the Golite Shangri-La 2, might be a good idea if you use poles. You can set the length of the poles so that the bottom of the fly is down to the ground when you're trying to keep out the weather, and extend the poles for more ventilation when the weather is hotter.

The Shangri-La has an optional net inner that can be set up on its own when it's really hot (as long as you don't need too much privacy).

I've got a Voyager Superlite and use it for solo backpacking/camping. You will just about get two inside at a tight squeeze (ok for partner say) and two 70 litre packs into the porch.

I am really pleased with the tent though. Mayby try one before you buy it to see if the space is enough.

I've used a Hubba Hubba HP and have to say i like it alot, for the weight you get a very spacious tent i'm 6'2 and can sit up easily within most of the floor space, the porches are a bit low but the tent inner is cavenous, i've also used it in some very rough weather wind, rain ect and can't really fault it.

The inner material sheds water well enough when pitching to not cause to much of an issue in the rain.

Thumbs up for the HubbaHP from me too. Quick and easy to erect, and customer service is excellent. I broke a pole, so sent it of to get repaired, it was returned within 3 days, with no cost to me. I have also pitched it on a few Munro summits, in differing weather conditions, with no problems.
