Hi I am new to all this all-weather boots stuff. So I would like some help getting a boot for use in the highlands this coming Dec. Will be up on some munros, so will probably need to be compatible with crampons in case of snow. It will be just some walking and possibly scrambling, nothing major.
I know comfort, and user preferance is quite important, so I am thinking of checking out the prices online and then trying them out in the shops before making a decision. Hoping to keep the cost down, so if anyone knows any suitable and awesome deals, please let me know!!
arguably all boots are B1 - and with the arrival of Khatoolas, some would even suggest many shoes are B1 as well.
However, you are suggesting walking and a touch of scrambling - I presume your experience is in summer, but be aware that winter scrambling is a completely different game to summer! Slopes are steeper, toe holds are smaller and edges are...more edgy.
Go down to a reputable shop, discuss your requirments and see what they suggest (and I bet you end up with a pair of B2s)
