I make my own boil in the bag stuff but in USA I had Mountain House and Backpaker's Pantry and here BackCountry Cuisine (from NZ).Of the three I liked Mountain House the best.(or disliked the least...)  Still a bit salty but not too bad when you have been sweat ting.Mountain House have the 16 oz 'Pro Pack"  for a larger than usual single portion.Franco

Freeze dried food is never the best but Mountain House is my preferred choice of the type and as mentioned they have bigger than average portion sizes available
I had there Chicken Tikka last week which was one of the better ones
I use www.outdoorsgrub.co.uk and can highly recommend their service

Care to clarify what that equates to in pounds, shillings and pence per pouch/meal?

Cheers

+1 on www.outdoorsgrub.co.uk. MH is ok but I prefer the MXR ones, in general. I like the BeWell chili con carne very much as well. Didn't get on with 2 different Backpacker's Pantry meals.

Thanks Peter.... is that for the 1 or 2 person portions?

I tend to bring quite a few back with me but find that by the time others have had some etc I run out before returning. Would be nice to have a UK source without the horrendous price.
