i've just bought a replacement pair of yeti gaiters for my various winter boots, the last ones have been on my sportivas for 3 years and they've finally died the death.

question is, given my appalling memory, how the hell do i get the new ones on to the boots?

large sz old style red yeti gaiter (ebay, £20!) and sz 42 sportiva nepal extreme.

cheers.

Heel 1st,use a spoon?i dont know about most, but i always take off my super yetts when my winter boots are parked up for the summer?
Show/hide user stats
didn't do that, coz a) i'm lazy, and b) i was never really sure how i'd got them on in the first place.

It just needs a lot of brute force! No way around that.

Heating up the rubber with a hot hairdryer helps a bit, but it's bl**dy hard however you go about it!

Paddy's right - heel first.

shove toe through front bit, get heel on, turn front rand inside out, put toe of boot on floor push thumbs inside turned out rand and puuuuuuuuuush like hell, then flip over to finish, if quite easy, then recommend pull up toe rand, clean up boot, apply glue and reseat rand
have fun

Yep, and try not to get your finger stuck under the toe rand...

Follow gearboys instructions but instead of using your fingers, use a plastic tyre lever from a bike puncture repair kit to ease the rand forward. Saves fingers.

Chris Lodwig - yes yeti's fit on scarpa SL's

James - tyre levers - brilliant idea.

I put my yetis on after spraying the inside of the rand with mr sheen . Goes real tacky later on .

I'll stick to my normal gaiters.
