Cheers,
Any of you blokes tried out pants with the 3xdry or dryskin extreme fabrics? I am coonsidering replacing my old wornout cotton panties with a set of Mammut Base Jump, champ, or courmayeur panties,(or another brand?) and just wondered what the difference between the two fabrics are.
I am going to use them primarily for spring, summer, & autumn hikes and climbs, but also some winter expeditions(with a layer of wool underneath) in the Norwgian mountains now and then.
I appreciate any advice,
Regards,

I've been using a pair of Mountain Equipment Co-op (Canadian) Schoeller Dryskin trousers over the winter and I though they were great. Very stretchy - so no material to flap around, water- and snow-resistant - so fewer occassions needing waterproofs, and very smart - certainly good enough for wearing into pubs, restaurants etc.

However, I also had them on up near Glen Affric a few weeks back and found that they were a bit warm that day. I wouldn't be planning to use them in the UK until late Autumn comes around again.

I have Marmot ATV trousers which are great in light rain and snow. Both just fall off them. In very cold weather I wear thermal leggings underneath, and in summer they will be too hot, but for general UK use, I like them
