has anybody tried this bag.sounds too good to be true at £39.99 with a comfort rating of minus 7 and an extreme rating of minus 12.

Not that particular one, but my summer bag is Snugpak. One thing I will say is to be wary of their claims re temperatures. My bag is rated +5C comfort, and 0C extreme. Well, at about +10 overnight I am cold in it (OK so I DO sleep cold anyway).
Note also that extreme temp is simply a "if you have clothes on and are stranded, this may save your life, but you'll still be miserable and uncomfortable" rating.

I DO like my bag, just that it's not great for the UK, since I'd only use it in REAL summer!

I've got a Snugpack Softie Merlin 3 rated at +5C comfort, 0C extreme (is that what you've got Cara?) and have used it in March and April with no problems. I do sleep 'Hot' though. I also use a silk liner if it looks like it will be a 'cold' night.
I think you need to know how you 'sleep' (hot or cold) to really get the best from any bag though.
same as cara, i reckon the +5 comfort is closer to +10 to +12 for proper comfort.

Yes OM, have same as you. And I sleep SOOOO cold LOL!!!
I love my softie 3 but then I sleep fairly warm

The quality is good on mine as well so the bag in question may actually be at quite a good price, have a good look at it if you can and feel it, that may help

I've also got a Sleeka Jacket. If it gets really cold I can put that on as well! Warm as toast then in 2 sleeping bags!!

Hey Ray,
The sleepers are a different thing from the softie bags, Sleepers are big chunky warm bags, not really backpacking kit like the softies. BUT VERY WAAAAARRRRRRRRRMMMMMMM.

Mmm Sleeka jackets - agree totally - lovely and toasty! In winter, just carry that plus a bivi bag in case of emergencies :)

Well its not often I get to say this...
I GOT ONE OF THESE.. lmao....

Love my snuggie.. heavy for backpacking.. but if you are cold in this.. zipped up.. then you are probably dead!
I've been as low as -5 with one of these and been fine, and I can not sleep with more than a t-shirt and boxers on.. (too much info.. I know.. lol)...
If you dont mind the weight buy one.. if you see me soon I may even have mine with me.. but then I am about to splash out on a Vango Venom and hope its as good as they say it is.. again £80 for a down bag... praying hard.........

I've got a softie chrysalis kilo - Comfort rating + 10, low 0. I'd go along with that, but i would class myself as a warm sleeper.
Ray almost certain its the same as mine, but i have the code green style and i paid £40 quid for mine and must say its a fantastic bag, never benn cold or chilly in it yet..
