any1 like inov-8s. if so r they nice if not y not.im intressted in getting some.

there was a thread a while back that spoke of inov-8's and superfeet. someone had tried the idea and, at that time, the two had combined well enough for walking.

I've got some Inov8 Mudroc 290's and i've had them for about a year and the sole is just starting to come away at the moment (but still functional until i can get to a shop to get a new pair) however they have had a fair bit of abuse. I've used them on the welsh 3000ers, i wore them in the alps for some approaches and a lot of walking to crags over here as well as my genral day to day footwear (in fact i've got them on at the moment).
Will certainly get a new pair when i've got a bit more dosh. I can't be bothered running so not sure what there like for that but pretty impressed as a lightweight approach type shoe.

I tried them on but found them uncomfortable so stuck with Walsh PB's.
Depending on your terrain you may be interested to hear that Walsh are bringing back the taiga

I think your asking what is the grip like? A1! It works well in both thick mud and rock.

I used to have a set of Fell Dancers they also had very good grip but the build wasn't as good.

I'm very happy with the grip on my pb's from what I remember the grip on the Walsh's is more aggresive than the inov8

innov8 are great, I use the terrocs for trail and hill running. very comfortable, great grip, not very cushioned or stable but you dont need that off road. are they for running or walking. I think they work well for both.

Do you want them for running or walking? For running it depends largely on the indiividual. I love them but I reckon the Adidas Swoop are even better. That said I'd happily walk in my Innov8's but the Adidas probably not.

I have too wear the Innov8 with volume adjuster insoles but the Adidas are a perfect fit. I have quite narrow feet.

I've had Felldancers and the build is absolute crap. Had two ppairs and heel camme away on both. Like something out of the 1950s . . .whhic of course iis what they are. They do have fantastic grip foor running but I can't see them as a walking show

Has anyone had any problems with rubbing on the back of the heel with there mudroc 290's?

Haven't tried other fell shoes but inov-8 are good. Just replaced a pair of mudroc 280s as they were falling apart, however that's a consequence of their lightweight design, more geared towards racing. Opted for mudclaw 330s this time and used them on the recent OMM. Absolutely fantastic, excellent grip on wet grass and even rock to some extent. It's worth going to a specialist shop to get the fit correct. The first time I got them I went down by a half size to get a snug fit. At the time I was a bit wary, but on the hill it all made sense as your foot doesn't move at all, almost like wearing slippers. These aren't as comfortable on road however as there is little padding but they do trail versions as well which would probably be more suitable.

If you google "inov8 heel rubbing" or check round any of the fell-running forums you'll see that heel rubbing has been an issue with inov-8s for many people. The standard advice (from inov-8) is to use steam to mould the heel counter to a less destructive shape. Like DDev, I've found the grip on the O330s to be sensational; the build quality less so, but at least they haven't delaminated like earlier models I tried.
