Can anyone offer advice?
I dont drive and currently take my three kids camping (8, 5 and 4) by using one seat of a double buggy to carry the tent.
Cant use the buggy forever so I want to upgrade to a lighter tent plus more substantial (3 season).
Ones I have been considering are Hilleberg Nallo GT 4 or using two tents Terra Nova Laserlarge 1 or 2 and Laser or Vaude Hogan Ultralight.
I need a porch big enough for them to eat in in bad weather.

if you don't mind sleeping in one tent i would recommend the wild country monsoon. it sleeps four in comfort and is - IMHO - underated at 3/4 season, the porch is massive and takes enormous quantities of kit. it weighs 5kg and can be put up by one adult.

the terra nova website factory shop often has fantastic bargains, i would recommend that as a good starting place.

Hi Rachel,

Don't know alot about the laser Large although I think Terra Nova quality is great , I have had the Laser and more lately the Voyager and they are both great, so assuming the size is right then I don't see why the ones you mention shouldn't be just as good !

There is extra cost linked to the Nallo 4 GT but they are quality , I have the Nallo 2 GT and that is great. Another good point is if you buy the fitted ground sheet it doesn't stop at the end of the sleeping area like most, it runs right though the tent which will help with the kids sitting in the for meals etc....... If the pegs are anything like the Nallo 2 then you may consider getting some others as once the ground gets soft they are of little use !

BTW I think Field and Trek are doing %age discounts on full priced items so you may save a bit :-)

No knowledge of the other sorry , but I am sure someone on here will help !

Cheers

The Hilleberg tents are supremely good quality and nearly indestructible. The tent you are looking at is the one with two sleeping compartments?

Thanks everyone, Taunton Leisure have got great price on Nallo GT 4 at the moment making the price difference minimal, I think it is only the one sleeping compartment. Weight is a major factor so although Monsoon looks great it is too heavy. I think I could save a tiny bit of weight with the Laser and Laserlarge, which would be the more versatile option as kids get older but not sure if I could fit them all in Laserlarge porch to eat. Tempted to go with Taunton Leisure's big price cut but maybe Terra Nova will shave off a bit more weight for 2006.
Saw the Coleman F1 Lite today, at least thats one decision made, I want it!
