I've been using North Face Pamir Windstopper gloves for the last few years and they're fine for all but the coldest weather.

Last winter I used a pair of MHW Powerstretch and, again, they were fine. Mountain Equipment Drilite mitts for when it's really wet and a pair of Buffalo Mitts in the ruckie for emergencies.

I would just like to thank everyone for there great advice on this subject. Thanks to the info, I decided to keep my £1.99 "outdoor" polartec gloves which I bought in the sale last year. I wore them while camping on the North Yorkshire moors last weekend and they kept my hands warm at -7 degrees. So thanks to everyone I saved myself over £25 and I had warm hands! (The only trick, was to keep them dry!)
