Reruns of good old Ray Mears Extreme Survival BBC tv shows on the Dave channel nowadays I see. Good if you can get the Dave channel I suppose.

BBC 1 on Wednesday the 13th August. The Lost Land of the Jaguar continues with yet more climbing, up to the high hitherto unclimbed plateau that is a sort of a lost world place, on the Brazilian Guyanan border region of South America. A kind of a mini table top mountain! Just fab. Outdoors kit spotting opportunities galore here in this show there is!

I saw the series on BBC Scotland Trevor. Worth watching. He gets mugged in the USA!

Yes, typical! Safe in the third world, then attacked in America. It happened to that guy walking the length of the country there too I believe, for the last record attempt of walking across America.
He booked into a Motel at night and it turned out to be a crack house!

Now there's a 'crack' for the poor fella then Mike!

Highland Emergency - just seen it for the first time. Aren't there any Scottish people working in the emergency services in Scotland? Everyone on the programme was English!!

Or did they do voice-overs?

MK This is about the 4th week of the programme so you must have missed the Scotsman. They tend to show quite a few mountain incidents in the Highlands although they seem to include Loch Lomond as the Highlands and one of tonight's incidents was even in the Lake District so I think it extends to the range of the choppers. I think there are about 36 programmes in total to be shown so maybe another Scotsman may be spotted.

Most Scots can't afford to live in the Highlands Kate. When house prices boomed down south, many sold up and moved to the Highlands to buy the equivelant house for a lot less. The result was house prices way out of reach of the ethnic workers. As the English have moved into the Highlands, the young locals have been forced into the towns. Parts of Skye are 70% English.

The Andrew Marr programme on Britain from Above, part 3 the last of the series, was very good the other day with a great microlight aircraft flight over Loch Ness; and too mention and coverage of Scottish mountain rescue services!
