Indiana Jones new movie.

Ageing well is our Harrison!  I think it has something to do with his love of hobbies such as hiking out into the American wilds, which I read someplace a few years ago he loves to do. Oh, and the younger partner of course, I suppose keeps him feeling young in spirit too of course!

One of my favourite Harrisn Ford tales was that from about ten or so years back ago; when he rescued a lost lone hiker out in a desert area in the US, Utah, I think it might have been. The guy was lost and injured and rapidly giving up hope of making it out of there alive, when Harrison spotted him from the air as he flew over in his helicopter. He set down the chopper and loaded the guy inside and flew him to a hospital. A real hero in real life then, as well as in the films, it does seem to be!That rescued guy now sure does have one heck of a good after dinner tale to tell now, as well!

Great clip! But that's from the second film, Temple of Doom, isn't it?I think they meant it was nineteen years since the last film in the then trilogy came out, Last Crusade in 1989!

I think I'm going to be just as excited as this as I was about going to see Star Wars the phantom menace a few years ago. I know when the music starts in the cinema I'll be transported back to my teenage years again. Just hope it's not the disappointment that the 'new' Star Wars trilogy was.

I figured that one there myself already, Katie! It was the dashing handsome young male archaeologists in it I thought you might go for though!Right up your street I thought.

I've seen it all now!Harrison has his chest waxed to try to highlight the spread of global rainforest depletion! You just couldn't make this stuff up!

He's the man!Harrison is even a part time mountain rescue team volunteer guy too, it appears! Regularly rescuing lost, injured and stranded hikers and climbers!

A big sucess the fourth Indy film is!Although it does seem to be that the Communist Party in Russia is very upset at the portrayal of 1957 Communist ideals in Russia, in this film! There is a link off of the article above linked here on that story too.

Did you know that Harrison Ford was actually the second choice last minute replacement to play the Indiana Jones film role then! I will give you a clue to who was due to play the role! He couldn't get out of binding contractual obligations at the time, as he was making the tv show Magnum PI!

And the Indy character was said to be based upon a few of the mavericks of world archaeology of the last hundred years or so too. One key real life candidate was the British explorer adventurer - and original discoverer of a real Central American reputedly Mayan crystal skull - my hero, the great FA 'Mike' Mitchell-Hedges. 'Danger my Ally' is one of my alll time favourite adventure books! A later day Indy in real life too, said to be partly the inspiration in real life of the film role, is the sadly recently deceased great adventurer and South American explorer extraordinaire...the one and only Gene Savoy. That amazing American was still even exploring and discovering new exciting whole city sites in Peru, in the last years before his sad death, just last year!Amazing guys, the both of them.

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/afp/20080528/ten-entertainment-film-peru-archaeology-1dc2b55.htmlSome great history fact mistakes in the new Indy film apparently! Some real corkers of cock-ups indeed here!
