Hi

Does anyone know a place which does spare parts for a Katadyn Hiker Water Filter?

I've lost the EasyFill Bottle Adaptor (rubber bung thing) that attaches the output hose to an empty bottle. The only spares i can find on the web is replacement filters.

Try phoning Lifemarque (who I think distributes Katadyn in the UK) on 01189811433 - they ought to be able to help you.

Thanks Glyn, that info is useful to me as well in fact.

Thanks for that.

They can replace the part but its looking like £10 (!) including P&P - they reckon hardly any shops stock spares kits. Pity, its handy but a non essential part.

If theres anyone out there with an old broken Katadyn Hiker lying in a cupboard, can they let me know if there willing to dismantle it, i'd happily pay a smaller charge.

 Thanks

I don't think you will likely find a spare part from a Hiker unit like you hope for though, as mine is still going strong after a good few years now!For a simple lost part it is probably much simpler and better to pay the tenner with postage included, to get that unit up and working again isn't it?

Yeah, i think your right.

Its just when i read some of the older water filter threads it gave the impression that there was plenty people out there with loads of broken filters! Obviously not the case - and i'll just order the part.

 Cheers

I think there is somewhere strange, mysteriously unexplained and inexplicably lost, where all water filter units go to finally die, much like the famed supposed 'Elephant's Graveyard' in Africa. If I ever do locate it I will let everyone else know here too, after fixing a couple of my old ones from the nineteen-nineties.
