Parky Again wrote (see)

other fun is pretend you're deaf and can't hear them (i can do an excellent deaf speech voice) - the general public really don't like stall holders picking on the disabled

yeah im sure its hilarious

I showed this to my Mum.

She wondered if you might think its funny to have to write everything down because nobody can be arsed to try and help you, with benefits, interviews, bus/train journeys, ordering a pizza watching the telly (pre subtitles)? If its funny when people try to rip you off, when they have 'secret' conversations about how much cash they can get out of you? When you go to parents days, the doctor, to watch your kids school plays. to see your kids come home covered in blood because they have been bullied- again!

All because you and your partner have to communicate using sign language!

Hey how about being sent to a boarding school 60 miles away from home because the government says so, or worse case scenario being locked up in a mental institution (as was) for 8 years

You may have guessed by this rant that both my parents are profoundly deaf and have been since birth and the above is a selection of things that have happened to them.

rant over!
