I think it looks good, not that that would either persuade or dissuade me from buying it.

Perhaps you are so vehemently against the colours ids because it would clash with that gold pack you were on about buying

My old man probably would. No sense of style whatsoever. He is almost 70 though, probably the same age as whoever designed that jacket and the Rab Stretch NeoShell Jacket too!

Good for Berghaus.  Retro styling has to be worth a try?  Its a great alternative to the minimalist Scandic/Arcteryx look that dominates premium outdoor kit at the moment
Would slapping a picture of a Tithonian therapod render it acceptable ???

I think its the way the red goes half way up your head before turning blue that really makes this one look so bad, like your sunburnt whilst wearing a blue shower cap. Would I let the colours of a jacket put me of buying it - YES I BLOODY WELL WOULD. Why do manufacterers go with these horrendous designs? there is a reason why green tents outsell red ones by 5 - 1 (i remembering hearing that somewhere). So many times I've gone to buy a piece of clothing only to find the only colours left in stock are the ones that look like they belong on a clown that nobody wants.

Mind you, if your on a budget I've noticed these colours normally end up as end of line bargains or turn up on e-bay with massive discounts.

The most subdued jacket I could find back in 1991 (I've still got it somewhere)

I drew the line at this version!

Amyone remember 'Conquer the Arctic', televised back about 1990 where the teams were all kitted out in Trango Extreme jackets/salopettes in a variety of bizarre colours?

Always fancied a Trango Extreme myself but ended up with a Phoenix Opal, Royal Blue with contrasting Lime and Cerise flashes and lime drawcords, the colours do tend to date it a little...

Talking about the Trango, anyone remember the Berghaus Himalaya (Extreme?), like the Trango without the contrasting wear patches.

Had a look at one yesterday.

Dreadful colour.

Thus ended my interest in it.
