Yep! Discounts are good even for the items there on sale price right now too, apparently. There are a good few bits available from the Trueways Survival School shop on occasion. Their prices on some items are very good indeed, even when there isn't a voucher code to use!

Heinie Haynes knives have some very good bits in their current clearance section. Nite Palm 4 torch for instance in blue or green beam, for £4.95 each with free postage and packaging. http://www.heinnie.com/product.asp?s=Xvttx5631485&strParents=&CAT_ID=0&P_ID=819 direct link here. NB - Do try to avoid that other Nite signalling light there in the clearance section at £9.95, like the plague. It has awful user reviews, which is why no one wants to buy it, and they are trying to sell it off at such a hugely reduced price. I found in a search online just the other day, that there are forum pages galore slagging it off as a real crap torch, going back a good few years. The Nite Palm 4 torch is well ok though, and I can vouch for it personally for outdoors use. It is a real veritable bargain here at under a fiver all in, free p and p included. The blue beam is the better of the two for reading maps at night I found. It is by far much closer to a normal white light beam than is the green one.

BEGINNERS OUTDOORS BARGAINS AT MOUNTAIN WAREHOUSE - Andy kindly posted elsewhere on the forum that there were a lot of good deals on at the new look Mountain Warehouse website online right now; he said there were bargains to be had as they clear out items in their camping section, I think if I'm recalling at all correctly. I've since looked, and there are a good few basic bargain lines there of interest, I too think. True it is mostly really beginners kit they sell there, but there must too be beginners who do likely look to this thread here upon OM forum; to tip them on good offers in kit, as well meethinks perhaps, as do all of us more experienced outdoors kit bargain hunting folks. I went earlier on to have a look at the possible bargains to be had there, and must say that their new-look website sure is looking like a great improvement upon the old one! Lots more lines stocked, as well as a good basic beginners 'Camping Tips' section, and a much improved wishlist function there too. I like the look of their new 'Ask an Outdoors Expert' a question section even. I think the whole thing resembles nicely more perhaps a US outdoors website in design and layout now, more than the normal run-of-the-mill British examples of such. I do hope that their new 'Camping Tips' section grows to be a very good resource for outdoors kit hunters in the future, and it looks as though it indeed might well do, from what I see there already now. I wish more UK outdoors sellers too would adopt a more similar informational approach to the layout of their websites, as well as just merely offering outdoors kit shopping choices. As lots of US outdoors websites have been doing this for simply ages and ages! Whilst too, here only Planet Fear really had a site where you could go shop and read informative articles as well. Fab stuff Mountain Warehouse!

http://www.mountainwarehouse.com/product/index.aspx?CatID=1332&ProductID=2256&Tab=1 A very good deal there on tincture of iodine drops pack set too, I think. It is at a really good offer reduced price of £2.99. Better than chemist shop prices really this, as it is a double pack here with a second bottle of neutraliser to treat the purified water too; for cleaning up the chemical after-taste left over from first using the tincture of iodine to actually purify the water. Can too be used also for washing fruit and veg on overseas trips, and for treating small cuts and wounds too of course. So a good useful multi purpose use item here, for both first aid or water purification uses, at a greatly reduced supermarket's style 'lost-leader' offer price. A real bargain, as the RRP was more than seven pounds originally.

Might be too, I realise now thinking on it, that the best 'clearing out' camping stock bargains at Mountain Warehouse referred to by Andy on the other thread, were in the actual chain of their shop stores branches themselves maybe mostly, perhaps. So it might well be worth popping in and having a little look around there, if you are passing one of their shops at all in your travels maybe this week.
