Is there anywhere to park a car overnight on the B846 near Loch Eigheach?

In the same area of the world, has anybody used the Kilvrecht camsite?

Did the Corbett Meall na Meoig along the track from Loch Eigheach. Don't recall where exactly I parked but I didn't have any problems.

I also took the train south and walked from Rannoch Station to Corrour using the same track. If you are concerned about leaving you vehicle overnight park at the Station car park. There is at least one house there and also the nearby Hotel.

As for your camp site sorry I can't help. From the description loolout for the midges!!

I'm not worried about leaving it overnight really; I just didn't know if there was anywhere to park.

I'll camp up on Carn Dearg to avoid the midges if the weather forecast is okay.

The train's a nice idea, isn't it.

I've to be in Perth on Sunday afternoon and then back to Edinburgh that night though so it would never work out.

As Linsay says its a long way in from Pitlochry, allow an hour an a half. I went in there last January in poor conditions and it took me 3 hours from the A9, mind you for the last few miles I had the snow chains on!www.corbetteer.co.uk/corbetts/tr/080111meallnameoig

 The train is really useful, another time I parked in that layby, got the train to Corrour and walked back via the the two Munros on the south side of Loch Ossian

IIRC there are a few places along there where you could park up, but I would favour leaving it by the station. There is a hotel there, so it would, in theory, be safer. The train is great, but if coming from Perth/Pitlochry/Edinburgh is a long journey.

Aye, it's a fair drive but it'll be worth it.

There was plenty of parking available - a big layby where the old Road to the Isles meets the B846 and a car park just a little further along the road by the bridge.

Hi MJ Glad you found suitable parking. I didn't think there would be a problem but couldn't quite picture where I parked.

You seem to have been a bit unlucky with the weather. I decided to go as far west as possible, ended up on a day trip to Mull to climb Dun da Ghaoithe for a second time and had a mainly fine day. Further west looked clagged in.

Sunday was on a Graham west of Victoria Bridge, nice day, nice weather. I'm too far behind in my trip reports and photos to show you these conditions in the near future.

Liked the photos you did take though.

The weather on Saturday was clearing up as I left. I could have hung around for another walk but I decided to head home and save it for another day.
