I am surprised...nothing under this category....nobody using GPS ? Is that because the routes provided have no easy GPS download ?

I suppose I don't feel like I need any help with my particular uses...

Pete.

or this section has just snuck in and we didn't know it existed.

what we need are some gps bargains......

I got my Geko 301 from the US for £25; that was a bargain

Like Peter I do not need any help (at the mo....gulp, fate tempted); but it might be useful to share a few snippets....although most of what I am into is covered by the Google Earth Community.

It has sneaked in, but it's just in preparation for something else

Err... yes; another Forum Topic that's spontaneously appeared without any fanfare.  Well done to you for discovering it...

You might try a forum search for GPS; lots of past discussion.  I'd use google and a site-specific search.

I think maybe if the topic were expanded to 'GPS/Mapping Software Etc' it might have a broader appeal?

I'd guess it's something to do with the new Routes section the site's been promising for a while.... wasn't it trumpeted at The Outdoors Show back in March - some hook-up with one of the gps mapping providers iirc to bring us an expanded routes section and downloadable route files etc.?

Perhaps it's imminent?!!

I wonder which company they are going to do the downloadable files for?

I have an old Garmin etrex for use, never upload a route to it but have it for the just in case scenario as it was very cheap.  Sits in the bag and never comes out - now thats tempting fate

What is the best way to get routes that I have created in Memory Map onto my Garmin Colorado 300? I have the Gt Britain Topo maps on the garmin but it wont recognise the waypoints.

Hi all,

Yes, Matt is right, this is to do with the new routes system. It's live now (beta) and took a lot more work than we though it would. Would be pleased to get any feedback.

All the best

I cant be arsed with gps routes, tried it once. as simon chaplin says, i too have an old e trek, though its never gone in my pack in the last18 months. i get fed up looking at techno gadgets all day at work so a map and compass is all i want when out and about.
