I am this morning now the proud owner of a Laser Comp, in green

Unfortunatly it's issing it down so shall not be having a test erection today

Just looking at the pegs, they are similar to these shown at number 9

2g skewer looking

I've just noticed that on others reviews they talk about carbon pegs with plastic tops.

Have I got the wrong pegs or just an old or new version. The tent has 2007 on the label.

Cheers

The original spec was carbon pegs with plastic tops.  Some folk like them but a great many didn't, so they were replaced in time with titanium skewers.

If it's pissing it down it's a perfect day to find out if it's waterproof: better to find out now than miles from anywhere...

Thanks for that. I think I might invest in a couple of V pegs as well. They look and feel so tiny - coming from pitching a 5m tent a couple of weeks ago

Wouldn't argue with that but off work with man flu at the mo and feel like shit, hence the shopping to make me feel better and not spending the afternoon in the rain

The Comp's titanium pegs are amazingly strong for their size, but are very easy to lose and have all the holding power in soft ground of drawing pins. I know it ups the weight a bit, but get four decent titanium angle pegs.

Mine are more like no:10 but smaller, black with orange tops on. Are they normal??

Glen, that's probably the carbon originals.

Don't worry if they're "normal", just as long as they keep the tent in place.

cheers PC, thought id better rush to the doctors with it.

Will be using some v shaped pegs tho, added security, and I dont think 40g xtra in total will cripple me. G
