Can anyone tell me if wild camping is permitted on Taransay? I'm hoping to spend at least one night there in August.

Wild camping is permitted anywhere in Scotland as long as you camp responsibly.

Thanks. I knew this was the case but really need specific info' ragarding Taransay as it's uninhabited and in private ownership. I don't want to incur the wrath of the landowner.

Have you contacted the Tourist Office in Tarbert about specifics? Closest I've been is the Harris mainland. By coincidence, BBC2 has a "Return to ... Castaway" showing during next week.
