I thought it would become warmer and wamer, but to my surprise, it is cloder than before, even the cold weather alert. Now, I am waiting for  the spring and I can have another camping.  Indeed, winter camping is a challenge, I got a clod because of my winter camping in Jan. So I can't wait to have another camping in the warm season. Are you also waiting for the spring and then have a camping?

Jane - what happened on your winter camping ? What gear did you use ?

We've been having some low temps here in Belgium over the last 10 days, lowest so far being -19°C.  With the right gear, it's not a problem.

Do look forward to the warmer temps though to be able to carry less gear/smaller rucksack.

Hi Jane, I get the impression from the syntax in your posts that you may not be a native of the UK? In which case, it's perhaps understandable that you didn't know that 'mid-winter' here isn't actually in December. I doubt any natives are surprised that it's colder now than it was in December or January!

If you've not enjoyed cold-weather camping, then give it another few months and try again

Yes! Waiting for warmer times. Or just waiting for times where it will be above 0C, not too windy and no risk of snowfall. Can cope with cold but not snowfall or winds. Well I can but rather not.

Come spring I want to live outside at the weekends as much as possible. Even got a hammock now so I can relax outdoors when camping near trees!! Getting it all planned out I think. Car camping early on then into the wilds when it gets a bit milder. Tarping or camping in the hills.
