Mostly I put in this last video as one does not often seem to see the rather rare old US forces cook set stove for the US 1956 pattern cup and metal bottle! Korean and Vietnam wars issue and very hard to get is both the steel water bottle and the canteen bottle stove. The steel canteen US Army cups one can still get though, as they are still issued to US forces today along with the current plastic type OD green GI's issue canteen, and the standard partner water bottle insulated ALICE cover, which takes both cup and bottle.

Just got back from a short back-packing trip in the USA when I took Captain Paranoia's advice about how to obtain alcohol for a stove. Walmart sell two different types of their product 'Heet'. One is called simply that and is apparently pure methanol. The other is called Iso-Heet and is Isopropyl alcohol. Both are used as fuel (not brake fluid) additives to suppress ice crystal formation in the winter. Heet is used in petrol (gasoline) and Iso-Heet in diesel and 2-stroke mixture.

I used 'Heet' in a trangia-type burner and it worked fine, burning hot and rapidly. I used 3 1/2 350 ml bottles for 4 overnights, including sterilising 2 litres per day of drinking water by boiling during the last 2 days. I don't think Isoheet would work in an alcohol stove, but I don't know.

fantastic c.p - i love it, a couple of months ago we discussed paper folding, i'm glad you have resolved your design - you need to get a company interested-what a simple idea, well done
