When my four year old lad got bit last year he was given antibiotics and steriods ..

Anybody got a clue why he got both??????

Did not get a rash but took him docs just to be safe .

Hope things are clear and your out walking again asap

Good luck with the daytime Tv mate, that alone will make you ill .

One thing worth remebering is if you get a bite and remove the tick, kill it and keep it.

I read somewhere??? that you can send it off for tests to see if it has the disease but i think its only done by vets!!

I could be wrong but worth bearing in mind ..

The only way they can test for it, according to the vast opinion of web stuff out there on the subject, is that method where they tap the spinal fluid at the base of one's spinal column; to obtain a sample to send in for special laboratory testing.Blood tests don't show up if Lyme's disease is present in one apparently.

The centre for disease control  (USA national body) has a long article on ticks and Lyme:

I'm afraid quality advice from NHS primary care is likely to be patchy - it's rare and a bit specialist.

In the 'good ole days', the NHS was the envy of the world. We used to laugh at jokes about US ambulances searching your pockets for a credit card before they picked you up. Unless you're a member of a private health scheme nowadays, we are worse than every other European country for health care. Thatcher?. Doncha love her.

Well - on the plus side at least you don't get your credit card swiped and then receive disappointing healthcare

Tempted to mention credit card debt (as a government policy) adding to health issues, but i'm too tired.

Ticks have definately increased since Thatcherism.

True - all types of bloodsucking have definitely seen a sharp rise since the 80s.
