Stupid gear question time
2 in 1 cleaner & re proofer

If i use a 2 in 1 cleaner & re proofer, will the re proofing bit coat the inside of the jacket therefore reducing its breathablity?

At the moment i use a cleaner and then a seperate re proofer and then low heat tumble dry for 40 mins or so on gore tex xcr. If i could dispense with the seprate re proofing bit that would be a great help but i will not risk the breathability of my waterproofs.

Thanks in advance

Hi Tim,

Personally I would advise keeping to seperate cleaning, then reproofing and then tumble drying as this method will give better results all round.  For the reproofing to be as effective as possible it is best for your jacket to be cleaned first.

Kind regards,

John
