Ok, I must confess the new nano/particle treatment that Hi-Tec are about to start selling looks seriously impressive and possibly the holy grail of breathable, waterproof footwear, bit I'm a little confused.....

I read somewhere that the treatment originates from research into make NBC combat clothing to protect soliders from chemical/biological weapons and the fall out from a nuclear blast.

Question is if the treatment is impervious to nerve agents and radiation, how on earth is my sweat supposed to get through it?

It looks interesting but how long will it last scraped by rocks, scree, scottish bogs, crossing streams, How long is the waterproof guarantee? Ive tried gore and event in boots event was absolute rubbish Gore lasted longer however Event works perfectly in my waterproof jacket I hope this new stuff actually works.

It's supposed to attach itself to every molecule in the material so even if you scrape of the outermost layer the next layer down is just as waterproof!?!?

If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Have you seen the YouTube clip linked on the mainpage of the site?

because water vapour molecules are small and gaseous, but nerve agents chemicals are big and usually liquid, and radioactive dust can be kept out like any other other dust.

What about the actual boots themselves?  This treatment is applied to the V-Lite Altitude Ultra WP boots - anyone tried them yet?  What "season" rating do the boots have?  Would they be good on LDP's for example?
