I got an email back, sad to report the following here though!
'Hi,
Thank you for your email.
I have had a look at your previous order - I am afraid we no longer do those particular ones anymore they are a non-repeatable line.
We do however do similar ones. Please see below link:' (one for the Gelert brand stove fuel, a hexamine product.) 'Kind Regards Abby Web Team www.outdoorgear.co.uk Telephone: 01202 727001' My reply today - 'Hello, thanks Abby, for the reply here to my email about the Esbit stoves brand solid fuel tablets. Sad to see you will no longer be retailing the Esbit brand anymore. I will report that fact back online to the others in the forum interested in that product too, by the way, with some sadness. As I said, the Gelert brand and other brands of hexamine type solid stove fuels are not much of a substitute really. The Esbit fuel is renowned in backpacking and hiking circles worldwide for the two reasons previously stated. It burns a lot hotter than hexamine, so your fuel goes a lot further on the trail. And too, importantly the fuel is completey non-toxic, which hexaine fuel - like the Gelert product, the Hi-Gear and the British Army issue hexi fuel cooker blocks - in comparison is not; as it produces poisonous fumes when burned, so cannot be used in confined enclosed spaces outdoors like mountain huts, emergency snow holes and too many mountain bothies. Many thanks, kind regards,Trevor D Gamble'

As some online stores still today list the Esbit stoves as a 'BCB Stove', I've now written to them by email to ask if that is indeed still the case, that it is currently one of their import product lines, with their survival and safety products outdoors ranges; as the products from Esbit do not seem to appear in the online products lists at the BCB website now. My search for a new supplier here for that product line continues therefore, so I shall let you all know what I find out here soon hopefully.

I did rough some tests on it using the little 4g blocks compared to the Highlander ones. They didn't heat quite as quickly, smelt worse and made a real mess of the pot and the titanium folding wing esbit stove they were in, which is hard/impossible to clean off. The small amounts of residue from the Highlander tablets washed off easily with water.

I'll add some to my order, the next time i get something from the US. Cheers Trevor.

I have to admit there Shuttleworth, that I've not yet myself tried out the Highlander brand ones, as I've found nowhere stocking either those or the similar Canadian Coghlans type variety.

http://www.coghlans.com/catalogue/productList.php?catID=5 Full survival and safety range here. Or small link. - Another US/Canadian emergency stove fuel type of course is Sterno. Not much available over here though sadly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterno Or here too. - Sterno is the alcohol jelly that is burnt, like Greenheat gel too is, directly from its tins, or as a fuel addition to basic survival stoves like the hexi cookers. One can buy it from a couple of UK suppliers though, in the issue green European army NATO stoves tins units.

I've tried to order from this new store here, and they too have a site problem I find, which I've notified them of now by email. It is impossible to shop there right now, as it appears one's basket just keeps emptying as one tries to update it ,or add other items to it.

I'm waiting now for feedback from Ready to Leave.com, on why their shopping baskets keep emptying there, whenever one tries to add something more to buy, increase the amount of an item being bought, or too just to add a single item to the basket at all! They tell me that it is my computer that is at fault here, as their own ones are all operating fine! S'funny, as my computer has not stopped me shopping anywhere else online now has it! Apart of course from my tries at shopping at Field and Trek of course, who do though admit that they are having website technical difficulties right now, with operating the new site there - which would explain that then wouldn't it!

Cheers Trevor. I'll check out that link later.

I had to re-message BCB International a few times more to get them to find me a new suppliers for the Esbit stuff, but they emailed me back today with one. Apparently Cadet Direct are the official UK distrributor for all BCB stuff now, and too they by chance are fairly locally near to me too, in Crowborough would you believe! Same company as the current outfit selling under the name Survival Aids.com.

 Good man Trevor. Cheers!

I've ordered some there now for myself! Postage there - as for lots of other online places too seemingly now - is a bit steep I do feel though! Spend under twenty quid and it is £4.50. Go much over and it is £6.99 postage and packaging! I had to go over into the bigger delivery cost though, since I wanted one of the Blizzard Survival bags which is cheaper there. That likely eat up a bit of that extra postage cost I think, happily.
