Off to Wasdale this weekend, anyone been on Pillar, Great Gable in the last few days? Is there much snow ice still?

It's raining quite heavily up here in the northern Lakes at the moment, so I imagine that what is left of the snow and ice will be washed away.

I was down in the Lorton valley last night and there wasn't much snow left, apart from splodges in some of the gulleys.

Skiddaw is mostly clear, apart from the very top, but that may not be there after today's rain. 

So I think you should be OK for Pillar and Gable.   Can't account for the rain and gales force winds though!!!

Lorraine - Thanks for the on the spot report. Saturday looks to be the worst day, Sunday, Monday not too bad. Still, there's always the pub.
