My local tesco corner shop is doing 2 finger kit kats multi-packs for £2 and the 230g cadbury's chocolate 2 for £2 as well. They have a range of different flavours including orange, mint, dark for the kitkats and milk. fruit & nut, cranberry & something, dark and milk for the cadbury's chocolate.

I bought 2 of each at the weekend and am now down to my last half bar of dairy milk chocolate.

Someone's got too much time on their hands if they are weighing batteries. Try going for a walk.

You don't need to weigh lithium batteries to know they're lighter than alkalines - it's obvious when you pick them up!

That said, I have weighed them and they are about 30% lighter - and when you're taking quite a few to feed several gizmos on a multi-day trip that's a weight saving worth having, never mind the longer life and better cold-weather performance.

I think you need a walk more than me...

One other major benefit of Lithum batteries is that they have much better performance in sub zero temperatures as I discovered in the Canadian Rockies one winter when the temperature dropped to -30C. and the alkerline batteries in my Digital Camera lasted next to no time.

MSR TItanium cup reduced from £25-99 to £14-99 (also lifeventure one from £19-99 to £14-99) at Blacks (Broughton, Chester) this offer not showing on there website.

P.S. they have 1 Ajungilak air pillow there (full price £15) thought I`d mention ,as they are hard to find, (they did have 3 till I got there...)

'Five Ten's Anasazi LV for women has arrived and looks as good as you would expect, the long awaited replacement for the old blue Five Ten has a lot to live up to but initial signs are good. We have had good feedback to date and if looks are anything to go by its a winner already. Sticking with rock shoes most Sportiva boots will be going up by about £10 a pair soon, their new price list is out but we are holding prices for a little while longer.
Mammut ropes will all be going up by 20% in the New Year too, when their new price list comes in to play, so if you want a new rope get one before 2009!
Also new in this week is the long awaited Upside Down Wales, winner at Llamff this year, so if you need a bit of light relief during these wet Autumn days this is the one for you. Don't forget we have a fully stocked DVD store if you need any other incentivisation!'

From the new V12 Outdoors email. www.v12outdoor.com

It is maybe worth noting this fact here about ropes prices rising in the new year, especially if you have been perhaps wanting one, yet putting off getting a new one till next year.
