Could anyone recommend a pair of sunglasses that would fit my big noggin. Or as the guy in specsavers politely put it "wide temples".

Winter is here and I'm after a pair that would shelter my eyes from some of the wind also. Whether they are the wraparound style of something like the Julbo ones where they come with leather side clip ons I'm not too bothered.

I don't particularly want to go down the ski goggles route because A) I would feel a putz in deepest darkest Wales and B) I'd like to be able to use them driving and I'd probably get pulled over by the rozzers wearing them.

And don't get me started on hats. I look like Billy Bunter in a baseball hat.

OR.....

MacGyver says:

Get hold of some 2" plastic drainpipe and cut 2 rings. Cover each ring with the purple wrappers from Quality Street chocolate brazils. Strap the rings over your eyes with bungee cord.....

hehehehe :~)))

Just realised, I've bought from the site that BG linked to (some bolle's last year) - service was excellent so no worries on that score.

Take a look at something from Oakley, they do a wide range of styles, some of which are pretty wide.

Try the Monster Dog/Monster Doggles... actually, that's a pair of them on the frontpage of that site linked above.

Good quality lenses, available in various tints, allowing different amounts of light through inc. polarised (for driving in wet conditions). Prices vary from £90-£300... take a look.

I've also got a wider bonce, and spent my whole life never wearing sun glasses, as I thought they only ever came in one size. this summer I headed down to the Sunglasses Hut in Milton Keynes, and found out that a lot of the RayBan styles come in different widths. They weren't cheap at about £100 for the polarised lenses, but I've had so much use out of them- even now in the winter with the sun so low whilst driving- I now find them essential.

Sorry to be posting here again, Kevin, but you just gotta be told this.

A friend just called round and noticed the title of this thread. He suggested you contacted Elton John to ask for some of his cast-off stage-specs. Puzzled, I asked him why he suggested that. When he read the title again, he realised that he had read "ponce" instaed of "bonce".
PMSL, just had to pass-on that gem.

Well, I've been called many things in my time.

I can imagine the winds getting around some of his glasses, they'd probably rip my ears off. Then I'd really have trouble getting sunglasses to fit.

I'm hopefully going to have a shop around on the weekend. If only I could find a retail outlet that didn't put the big security tag on the nose bridge.

Right, now where did I put his number?
