My reconing it's a revolutionary new widproof fleece which is 40% more breathable but still too clammy and hot for Britain. Or maybe 40% mmore breathable gas masks.

And why take you out to france for Thai food, couldnt they have done it in that really nice chippy in Skipton?

My lips are 40 per-cent sealed. I cannot say a word more. But yeah, it was odd going to Lyon, the cullinary capital of France, and then eating Thai food. Slightly surreal, but it was a good night and some interesting stuff, which I still can't talk about...

What puzzles me is why they've sprung for a jolly, then won't allow any publicity for their product. I mean, we're talking anoraks (?) here, not gamecubes or Eminem. Not exactly the stuff of breathless musings and sleepless nights. Is it really THAT exciting?

It's the timing actually, the thing won't be around till next January and Gore didn't think it made sense to go public on it at the moment. It actually does look like a pretty good thing, but unless you have a cat we can blow up, we simply can't tell you what it is. Believe me, if I could I would. The positive side of it is that by then I'll have been using product X for a couple of months, so should have a realsitic idea of whether it meets up to the claims. The Thai food was very good though, and the wine they served with it was an excellent match, which is unusual I think.

Do I get a prize if I'm right?

Easy answer is to have an OM meet and inspect everything Jon wears during it, or failing that take him to a pub and get him too drunk to resist telling us.

But I like the idea of an OM member meet this year soon!

(as long as you-know-who isn't there...)

Hmmm....

Well, firstly Jon can you even tell us what it's called? I admit that a name like Windstopper tends to give the game away a little, but it might be a little more subtle than that...

Secondly when is this stuff (I assume it to be a membrane) coming out? And when will you be able to do your review thing on it?

Thirdly I love the sound of a meet up. I have my first exam tomorrow... (what am I doing here?!!! I should be cramming - well in my case revising!), and my exams finish on the 27th June, but I am then away till the 3rd or 4th of July in Kavos!!! Hahaha. Then I have a job on Saturday's... Ooooh sod it... I'll setup a thread in the Meets section. Too much onfo for here just now.

I would think a couple of hours Gaffa-taped to a lamp-post would be sufficient.
