i just bought a Paramo Velez smock from Rathbones in Keswick for £145,it seemed a good deal as the rrp is £160 i think, has anyone got one cheaper than that?

£140 for mine. But what's a fiver between friends?
I'm sure I read that someone had picked up a Velez for £80 - I hope it was a hideous colour!

The £80 ones tend to be in orange in XXS or XXL...

 |
Jacksons have the old model for £99 if you don't mind the heavier fabric and colours.

Bought mine at Hitch 'n Hike in Bamford 2 weekends ago - they had 15% off all Paramo which brought the Velez down to £136. Don't know if the offer's still on though...

Got mine locally for £130. That was with a 10% MCofS discount.

Just checked HnH website - "Offer will continue while current stock lasts"
|
 |
Hmmm - how does the current Velez sizing compare to other brands e.g. Berghaus?
|
 |
It's uniflip. Do you mean male or female?
The large fits Bob - he's a standard size large normally.
The medium is about 12-14 womens and the small is 10-12, due to the hips area needing to be bigger in proportion to the shoulders.

Thanks JJ - I think it's wishful thinking that the Slate XXL Complete Outdoors have for 79.99 wouldn't drown me.
I'm generally an XL in most brands (Berghaus, TNF, Lowe Alpine, Macpac) and only seem to need an XXL in Montane and Craghoppers tops. Looking at the Paramo site measurements I'm at the top end of the XL scale but... £80 a reasonable colour it was tempting...

 |
If you are top end of XL then you may find XXL has a little more room and comfort.

It may be OK, I know that Guy said he prefers them in a larger size than normal. The Velez is one of the lighter ones so you'd need room under it for a fleece in winter. <said hopefully>

£80, medium, slate. can't quite remember where i got it from. may have been go outdoors (ccc as was)

I'd say definitely go for a size up on a Velez. I bought a small because the shop told me it should be close fitting. When I wore it in Scotland, though, I almost froze to death. I took it back and got a medium, and now I put layers on underneath to keep warm.

After everyone's kind advice I went to buy it from Complete Outdoors this morning and it's gone :-(
I shall console myself with the fact that a) I didn't really need another jacket, and b) It might have been uncomfortably big...
