i am looking to get my first serious waterproof jacket & have narrowed it down to:
paramo alta
paramo aspira
m/equipment kongur

i'll be using it for hill walking weekends to walking the dog before/after work & everything in between. weight/cost isn't important but i don't want a short smock type fit. also the hood & neck must be roomy for my fat head & neck. all help appreciated (& other jacket suggestions pondered) :-)~

"i have the long arms of an ape"
Try a Rab Lofoten - has arms sized for knuckle-draggers - ask captain paranoia!

I jest not!

^ if the neck & hood are the same size as a latok alpine it will be too small, but thanks all the same

I've got an Aspira Jacket, and I would say the arms are quite long, and the neck seems generous, but I think you may well have to try on, too make sure

If you don't like short length (oxymoron?) go for the alta II.

Lippy - the hood on the alta rolls into the collar. A good choice of jacket for your intended use.

I've got the Kongur and I like it. I too have a fat head and I find the hood and neck to be a good fit.

I am fairly large bloke and I got an XL and am happy with the size. Its length is just right, it covers my bum yet no so long as to hinder movement. Hope yours fits well too.

well, the Paramo aspira arrived today. i was convinced i would be sending it back & keeping the ME kongur, but now i'm not sure. both have very few disadvantages, but the Paramo hood is a bit bigger. hope i make the right choice :-/=

Smock or jacket for the Aspira?

I own an Aspira Jacket, and love but it is too warm for summer months, can't comment on the ME as never used one but, people swear by them, Evil Darren especially (Where's the MEaholic (ED) when you need him!)
Its down to personal preference
Have a look at the user reviews on the site for both brands and see if that helps
