I've just posted this so I can illustrate the new editable forum posts facility. Cunning or what? But now I can add to my post, which is great. Thank you outdoors magic for making this possible.

The edit button disappears ten minutes after I've posted, or when the next post appears in the thread, whichever is longer. And it means I can add to my original post or correct the sort of dubious errors I specialise in.

Cool or what?

OK so I can now post a reply....

....and then add stuff to it.

At last I can correct all my typos

About time too!

Obviously we have Batman and what's-his-name to thank for this.

(I can still edit this post.)

It seems I can still edit my first post in this thread long after ten minutes have elapsed and there are newer posts in the thread.

Matt -

Say something about how mature and responsible we all are.

(I can still edit this one, too @ 12:38)

So now I can swear at someone, wait for their comeback, then remove the evidence of the original insult and leave them looking silly?

Brilliant - the possibilities are endless...

....except that of course we're all too mature and responsible on here to dream of using it like that!
;-)

Gordon, I've met you remember - how could I say anything about being mature and responsible?
(that was an edit, folks, in case you're getting confused - I know I am.)
PS. I'm off out now so if anything else appears here - it wasn't me!!!

Jon/Tech Team -

Not kidding this time. Looks like you can maybe use it to edit other people's posts.

Email me if you need more details. I'd better not post it on the thread.

I just edited a post that I made on 08/12/05 at 14:24:19

In fact, I can edit all my posts if they're last-in-thread. Can't edit posts by anybody else, though.

You can't, by the way, edit other people's posts, even though if you're devious enough, you might think you could. Which is a relief really :-)

So you can pretend you didn't say something?

...or that you did!

(I didn't really say that did I?)

That's not actually the case Neil - it is perfectly feasible to change your post in the middle of the thread!
