Why not do a lightweight gear show after something like the TGO challenge or a charity trek. The latest edition of TGO was saying in America cottage industries often show off their kit before the start of the big trails.
I reckon after would be good. People will realise how much excess weight they were carrying and be persuaded to buy stuff, whereas people might not want to chance it at the last minute if you held it before.
Just an idea...

 Would some kind of exhibition at the final control point of the tgo Challenge in Montrose be possible? It would have to last for the time folk are reporting in, though.

Okay so I have to admit to being beaten on this one!
I've tried a dozen places locally which would be ideal for a mini lightweight show, but as I was aiming for April it clashes with the Easter break and of course the start of wedding season, which I had forgotten about!!
May is too close to the TGO crossing so I am going to see if I can organise something for August, so people will still have time to use the gear before the weather changes.
I'll start a new page on my website for people to contribute their thoughts and register their interest and it gives me much more time to get products and support from the rest of the trade.
Give me a couple of days to start it and then join in peeps!

I forgot to mention, that as a result of this problem I hope to try and get a small stand in the outer parts of the universe, (probably near the toilets and bins) at the Outdoors Show! So if I can get some samples of unique lightweight kit in time, I'll bring them along.
