Like the new site - just one thing though, can't find any mention of sizes in the product pages - would be useful especially for the women's kit (you know how fussy they are about that sort of thing).

Yes sizes are pretty essential, particularly when from experience their XL is equivalent to a lot of manufacturers L. Maybe it's only us larger blokes that have a problem though...

Yes, sizing would be good.
I personally love the look of the range-finally proper womens stuff. The tops don't look too short either, which is an eternal problem.
All I need is to save some money to afford them...

Really Richard? My boyfriends' small jacket is huge for a small. You'd be really drowned in it if you happen to be skinny.
Maybe their smalls are on the large side and their xl's on the small side.
Odd

"Maybe their smalls are on the large side" - like Bridget Jones' pants?

I've never been a big fan of the 'activity type' categorisation of products; I never know which category to look in. Sprayway use this system exclusively (as do Montane), and it annoys the hell out of me. I'd much rather see categories like 'jackets', 'trousers' etc, and have the activity type as part of the product description.
Patagonia allow both search methods...

 > My boyfriends' small jacket is huge for a small
There does seem to be some inconsistency in their sizing; I tried on an Air jacket the other day, and it barely fit at all, whereas all the other Montane stuff I have in S fits well (although my old Alpine Duratherm fleece is very big).

Their sizing's weird in women's too - their 14 top fits me perfectly though I've never been anything but a 12; but their trousers seem sized exactly right (except they're designed for women with very long legs!). The cut for women is really nice.

Captain - good point about the activity classifications.
Sizing inconsistency is a pain (although to be fair most manufacturers are guilty of it to a degree). If you order on-line it can be a real gamble, and at the top of the size spectrum places like F&T only stock up to XL so on some garments FB's like me have a bigger problem...

 > The cut for women is really nice
Kate Moss or Marilyn Monroe? Can't be cut to suit all women. Be glad that the cut suits you.
The same applies to men, of course, but I don't think we exhibit quite the same variation in form.

At least the womens range looks like it has been designed as a whole though. Decent windproof, waterproof, fleecey thing and trousers in colours that co-ordinate. No pink too :-)
The only thing I think is missing is a _synthetic_insulated top/jacket. Most manufacturers do not do a womens specific one (Rab have womens down ones but not synthetic) and it would complement the existing range well (you could build an entire 3 season wardrobe with just a few well designed garments). If they could design one that didn't make (non-outdoorsy) men laugh at me for looking 'outdoorsy' that would be extra good.
I get sick of looking round outdoor shops at the same c***. Montane (and also Rab) are a breath of fresh air, as finally they provide something other than 3 in 1 goretex jackets. Although it has taken hell of a long time for them to bring out decent womens ranges.
And I've spent a lot of money on products that didn't fit in the meantime, meaning I'm too poor to buy much of their new range :-( (Think I can squeeze a lite-speed though).

I agree about the category thing, pain in the bum.
Also a bit of a shame they launched the site before finishing it. Check out dealer listing - most of the information missing & someone at montane doesn't know the alphabet.
The design of site as a whole says a lot and mistakes like the fonts on "about us" page look shocking, as does the border of the page shooting up and down depending on which page you look at... getting picky now.

Montanes sizing is a pain I'm a 40 in most things but I have to go large size with anything from Montanes recent range. I've got an old Chonos smock in a medium/ 38-40 still fits like a dream the new Extreme smock is badly in need of a reverse make over as it's Baggy sleeves, useless chest pocket, elasticated cuffs, tight neck, tight hem, and who in gods name decided it was a good idea to move the cross vent zips, I ask you.
