How To Get Rid Of Musty Damp Smell

My metal vacuum flask, approx 1ltr capacity, which I only use occassionally has developed it's own aroma, a musty, damp smell both inside and on the pouring/sealing mechanism, whatever you call it, which no amount of conventional washing will clear.
I wash with warm soapy water, let it drain upside down and dry itself then store it in the under sink cupboard.
Any suggestions, chemical or otherwise?

Bicarb of soda. Soak in a solution. Also, try a Robert Dyas and look for a bottle of TSR tea stain remover.

We also use bicarb of soda - get a big box from boots.

Put empty flask in sink, add 2 heaped teaspoons.

Pour on boiling water to nearly the top.

Leave 20 minutes or so, and then tip out.

If very gunged may need to do more than once.

Also works a treat on stained mugs.
