At the end of last year I stopped subscribing after about 15 years. I had found that each edition kept me interested for less time than the one before.
Since then I notice that TGO is placing more emphasis on lightweight gear. That might be enough to tempt me back, but I can't find out whether this is true. Whenever I look at the bookstalls/shops there is no TGO. I don't want to risk a whole years subscription to discover that the change is not enough to rekindle my interest.
If TGO would publish, here, a complete contents list each month I might be encouraged to contact your back numbers department and try another issue. This in turn might encourage me to renew my subscription. 'Till then I remain an ex - subscriber.
I understand that all the TGO big cheeses are currently strung out across Scotland dealing with the Challenge. Will whoever drew the short straw (Petit Fromage?) and is left in the office please bring this to Cameron's attention when he gets back. Meanwhile, does anyone else think that a contents list would be useful?

mm try before you buy magazines... An interesting concept... If you hark this much for a TGO fix, then don't be a tight wad and get a subscription again....

Muzza, If I could find TGO in shops I would flick through and decide whether to buy. I can't. My decision to stop subscribing after 15 years was not caused by tightwaddery. Are you a subscriber and if so for how long?

I can get TGO in WH Smiths. I will subscribe, however i'm waiting for a decent freebie.. (currently rail tickets!!!) I subscribe to Trail (are you allowed to mention that on here??)Overall I enjoy both mags. I know that sometimes the content doesn't always hit the mark, however the reviews/routes etc are worth keeping for future reference when buying gear or looking for a new adventure. PS I was only kidding you about being a tight wad etc etc..

Have a look at the website www.tgomagazine.co.uk, it doesn't give a full contents list, but you can see summaries of the main articles. If you have broadband, you could try the free digital subscription.

 Thanks Chasrle, I'll try that.

This petit fromage doesn't get out to play TGO Challenge. The lesser petit fromage is in New Zealand. We actually do provide a contents list for OM every issue - unfortunately OM are occasionally rather tardy at putting it up - take a look at bottom left of this page! For your interest Ancient Frum, Lighten Up is now an inherent part of TGO. We don't see the ultralight boom dying out so we'll continue to promote it, report on it and indeed help develop it.

I hadn't realised that the Mag was clickable!!
BTW, i can't access the TGO site, i tried a fortnight ago, and it's still the same. I get the hompage text and banner, but little crosses for the rest of the pics. The internal links i tried don't work for me either. :-(( Is it the same for everyone else?
And is there a freebie digital edition avaialble? I've herd it mentioned a few times over the last few weeks. It would be interesting to have a look at.

Thanks Cameron. I'll have a go at buying a recent edition to check.
By the way, and this is not a complaint but just something you might want to get a fromage to check, when I clicked on this page it took me somewhere that detailed contents of the April issue. From there I clicked on the TGO site which told me the contents of the May issue. I happen to know from this forum that the June issue has been out for about a week.
(oops. Edited later when I noticed I had said June issue out for a month when I meant week.)

Anyone interested in having a look at the digital version should contact tgo.subs@tgomagazine.co.uk Rather than send out CD's as we were doing we are now sending a sample digital version straight to your in-box.

Is the May/June (can't remember which one- review MHW ignition T, TNF Diad... Colin Prior article) the usual kinda length for a TGO issue?
I read it in a shop the other day and it seemed a bit thin.

Bunged an email to tgo.subs@tgomagazine.co.uk to register interest in the digital version but I've heard nowt.
Anybody home?

Every publication needs its entertaining sticky regular features and columnists to reduce the risk of falling circulation when readers detect that the content may be just a recycled version of what was in last year's output. As readers and subscribers we also need to be maintained in a state of perpetual dissatisfaction with our gear in order to keep the various related industries solvent. This may be more aggressive and cynical with computer, car and photography magazines for example, but must no less impact on the editors of outdoor magazines.
