This isn't a "what shall I buy?" thread, this is a "I bought" thread!!
My girlfriend and I were in the Lakes over the weekend and if any one else was up (I live in Kent) there you'll know it was a little damp.
We spend Sunday up in the hills and I found the 'wet-out' limit of my new TNF Apex soft shell.
We were camping at Great Langdale got back and I decided that we needed some extra shelter from the rain. We had another 2 nights and I just wanted to have room to move around, take off wet clothes etc...
We went into Ambleside and my plans for buying a fly and poles type of shelter fell by the wayside when I started looking at big tents in Blacks.
I wanted to get the Vango Diable 600 but Blacks didn't have it and although there was a tent show over the weekend they had packed up the Vango stuff and sent it back to Kendal already.
I ended up buying the Eurohike Chatsworth, sleeps 10 with over 2m head room at the central point.
Pitching it in the pouring rain was a little daunting, especially as she goes up inner first, but once we were and dry with dinner cooking my girlfriend was very pleased that I'd persevered!
Buying it was a bit of a saga. The Tent Show as done by Millets, but had closed when we we got there. We went into the store and they arranged with the guys packing up at the show for us to go down and buy the tent!
It cost 209.99 and it's off to Le Mans in a couple of weeks. Anything more than 1 or 2 nights and I'll definately take the Chatsworth!
