Bizarrely, the TGO podcast (which I d/loaded last week) starts playing as soon as I open the new TGO in the Zinio reader. Is it supposed to happen? I can't turn it off - any tips?

Not having the Zinio reader I can't say if this is suppose to happen or not. But it does sound unusual behavior to me.
How did you download the TGO podcast? Try renaming it and seeing if it still happens. If it does then you may find the Zinio reader has it's own copy, if it doesn't your problem is solved.
On a positive note, the new TGO will soon be with us, and I assume the next TGO Podcast (bet Bob is busy)

It's within Zinio Reader - Look in My Zinio Library/media/(long number file) and there it is.
It does stop when you move from the front page though!
that's sloppy coding, bad design call it what you will
Ooh, ta, NSJ! What a relief.
(It just started up spontaneously when I d/loaded and fired up the new edition, WD.)
rest my case my collie could do better by the sounds of it.
And the bad news is that if you delete the mp3 file in Zinio library, it automatically downloads a new copy when you re-open Zinio Reader.
Only way to stop it is to avoid the cover page!

Considering the podcast is a completely new platform for any outdoor publication I think the fact that they have imbedded the podcast into the front cover is welcomed.
Granted the opening of the magazine does automatically start the podcast, but it can be easily stopped by clicking on the 'button' when hovering your cursor over the centre of the front cover.......they've probably done this so it is not overlooked> ...."Weird Darren" - you should have asked your collie dog how to do this as he seems to be more computer literate than you!!!!
Superb launch podcast....looking forward to the next one> keep them coming guys....and on the digital issue too ;-)

Elton just spoke to my collie, he thinks that you can sniff his butt, as you talk what comes out of it.

We appreciate the feedback folks, it all gets considered at the meets we have about these things.
Can we please, at the same time, keep things on a courteous level? We don't want to see potentially constructive comments dissuaded by negativity.

Did you get a page 54 on the digital edition?
Yes, there is a P54, but pages 5 and 6 have some of the same content.....
What did you get on p54?
 Exactly the same as P56!
(I don't normally read these bits, so I'd missed the duplication).

"I don't normally read these bits"
What bits, the pages? :-) A pictures person eh?
No, more a tactile person, but that's a bit difficult on a screen.....
What I should have written is that I don't bother to read the 'routes in someone else's footsteps' section!
I should say that I actually think it's a nice idea to have the podcast start playing when the magazine fires up. The problem was simply that I didn't realise it would stop when I moved to another page.
<fx: trots away to check for duplications>
P54 and 56 seem to be the same on the original download!?!? Page 5 and 6 also have some of the same content!?!?!?
However if you go to your zinio account and download the magazine again you will see these pages corrected> ...there must have been an error'd page or something....need to check against my printed copy.
....just don't ask "Weird Darren" to reply as he'll start bitching like his collie again ;-) ......better the responses are kept within those of us who like & use the digital experience!
....Great issue though!

looks like Elton is proving my previous posting was accurate about him.

If you open the folder 'My Zinio Library', then 'Media', then the folder '158886280.1-B', in there you'll find the tgo_sept_podcast. At least thats whats on my PC. Would it not be just a case of deleting it from there?
