New From Montane Scoop!
Due in the shops in just a few weeks time, the nicest fleece jacket we've seen in a long while, plus a 100-gramme waterproof jacket and yes, you did read that right.

the new Montane fleece uses

fluffy-faced fleece fabrics

For endless evening camping fun, simply eat a cream cracker and try saying that as quickly as you can.

Warning: probably best done outside your tent rather than in it!

When you say emergencies, do you mean you could use it as a golfball if you lost yours or drive it down the fairway to someone caught in an isolated shower?

This has nothing to do with tongue-twisting gear, but there's a Roman historian in Germany called Wilfried Nippel. Always raises a tit-ter with the students!

I once got stopped in a Teacher's car when he was driving back us back to college from a field trip. With me in the car were Anthony Quinn, Tony Curtis and our teacher Peter Piper.........took half an hour to convince the copper we weren't taking the piss.

Oh my God! I wish I'd been there, that's so funny.

Many years ago, late 60s, there was a surgeon and agent, a sort of civilian GP for servicemen becoming ill on leave, for the Dunoon area and his title and name were Dr. Donald Duck. Straight up!

I was by the coast recently, and there was a stall on the beach front with the usual flipflops, but also some good quality walking gear. I talked to the lady running it, and discovered that she selled soft shelled shoes on the sea shore.

Boom! Boom!

Macsen, oddly enough, Dr. Donald Duck only passed away a couple of months ago - I'd seen mention of it in a couple of newspapers.

Link if it's any interest!

Does she offer repairs as an after sales service should the tread of your fancy new footwear become damaged from walking on molluscs?

Or, in other words: does she seal the soles of the soft shelled shoes she sells on the sea shore when shattered by sharp sea shells?

She seldom seals soles of soft shelled shoes she sells on the sea shore shattered by sharp sea shells, as soft shelled shoe soles shouldn't shatter simply shuffling on on sandy shores sporting sharp sea shells.

You guys are crazy ... (In a good way!)

I think the Montane jacket seems really nice, it's great that they've released an ultra compact jacket which isn't only windproof. However, I question the lack of a hood. Getting the rain in your face is very unpleasant. How would you take care of that with this jacket?

'She seldom seals soles of soft shelled shoes' - shurely shome mishtake?

Oscar - know what you meant about the hood. I guess you could wear a hat - some sort of sowester type arrangement. What bugs me is that Montane have saved weight by leaving off a hood, but still put a full zip on the front. C'mon guys, we can get this baby down to a 80g smock!
