What d'you think of the Pacer Poles so far, Duncan?
I've held off on the GorillaPod so far. I bought a v. inexpensive little lightweight tripod after the Challenge - nicked the idea from Bob. It works brilliantly, and fits into the belt pocket on my Atmos. Jessops :)

Err, been sad, and have been walking round the flat with them. The action of the poles (within the limits of the experiment) seem similar to Leki, but handle is comfortable. There's a long weekend coming up in Aberdeen, so I'm planning on heading up Glen Ey (again) to break the poles in. Hopefully have the Roclites by then. Be buying my tickets for the train to Mulngavie and Fort William for my October bimble. I use a yellow 'Pod' bean bag for the camera at present, not the same as a small tripod, but I find it useful. If I used it on top of a fencepost, as in the photos at the bottom of the page, I'd hold on to the camera by the wrist strap just in case, and use the self-timer to cut down camera shake.

TGO has just been rammed through my letterbox. Just in time for coffee! Hoorah.

Bah, I had to leave for work before the post arrived today, so I still don't know if I've got mine... :(

"copies have been despatched a day or two later than they would normally have been, in part it would seem due to post-production work after printing.".......John Manning
I'm guessing this post-production work is the wrapping of an advert round TGO's waist? The delay was worth it; I haven't laughed so much for weeks. TGO wears it as proudly as Miss World wears her sash.
"Legacyjobs". Some legacy.

It is a good issue inside though. Only had time to flick through so far. To engrossed by the BNG advert.....

Mine was here when I got home - I laughed at that too, but I don't think I'll be applying.

I just wondered why PW needed to have TWO buffs on her TGO walk.
Nice piece, btw PW, and very useful. Thanks.

Two buffs are twice as useful as one buff!!
I nearly always carry two - usually one for a hat and one for a neck gaiter. But they could make a double-thickness hat if it's chilly (or just a spare if you lost one), as well as being used for pot-grabs, drip-mopping cloths, impromptu pirate impressions, and a host of other uses...

One to use as a bobble and one for frottage.

 Ta, Kate :)
One to use as a bobble and one for frottage.
Frottage, eh? Phew! Interesting word :)
