Well, WD and Harry seem to have a history but to be fair calling people 'tosser' and 'gay' seems to be fairly typical of what Harry evidently considers to be robust opinion and I consider mindless abuse.

Any thread 'starring' WD and Harry is one I'm glad to have missed, I can get plenty of vitriol elsewhere, I'd rather just avoid it here.

But don't you see, you've also jumped onto the anti-Harry bandwagon whilst totally ignoring the inflammatory comments that prompted him to respond. If I'd had someone on at me time and time again accusing me of all sorts then I'd be quite happy calling them a gay tosser.

Selective reading, it's what I love about you Bob.
But I bow to your all encompassing knowledge on this and everything.
So I will now consider myself told off.

Harry is not some schmuk who struggles with written English, he knows full well the manner with which he writes his posts and could easily express himself in a manner more fitting for a man of his undoubted intelligence , that he chooses not to is a mystery .
I suspect that Harry has some very interesting views and would wish we could cut all the rubbish and then perhaps we could all hear each other out with some respect and a little humour.
After all it is a time for fresh starts and resolutions.

Don't worry Bob - it's just that you're not one of the clique either.

Bob, many thanks for your supportive comments. Really sticking your neck out but at least I appreciate it.

FWIW I'm pretty sure I've never made an unpleasant comment towards anyone on this forum without first being provoked by a slur, disparaging remark or general unpleasantness. If I have then I'd be more than happy to apologise.

Well no one has answered the question.

Why did some people get the gift and others not???

As a foot note there is one person who will come on this forum and disagree with anything I say on one certain subject however far rediculous that comes out , cos some of the posts i make are so obviousley factualy correct. To disagree with them this person has to say some really stupid things, just to say the opposite of what I said.

When this happens I just ignore it. Firstly it take two to argue and I have better things to do with my time than play that game and secondly the posts speak for themselfs and people make their own minds up.

Now I did not always do this but I learned from hearing others oppinions that there is no need. That most people will come to their own sensible conclusions. And those that dont are not worth the trouble or my time.

Maybe one or two others should do the same?? Or maybe not?? Its up to you.

As one who hasn't always seen eye to eye with Harry, particularly on his views re TGO I'd have to say this is getting a bit silly. OK so he expresses his views less subtly than other but a troll he isn't!

And on that note, happy New Year everyone!

Craggy, there are lots of views expressed on here that I don't agree with. The vast majority I don't even comment on. Life's too short.

My views on TGO are well known and are as valid as your views. The fact that those views difffer is of little consequence. You are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. The problem from the first time I posted on here is the small group of people who band together and accuse me of trolling. Not true and a bit annoying.

Actually, I'd quite like to see a break down of the posting statistics. As a very occasional reader/contributor, it always seems to be the same handful of names which crop up.

I don't agree with Harry on some things he's posted but do not consider him to be a troll. I also feel this accusation is being used, as Harry suggests, by a small group of people, who object to his presence & seem to want to discourage him from posting. A hard thing not to react to.

I've not been around this forum for some time, largely because I got tired of reading new posts that were often just OT banter between 'regulars' that would be better suited to Messenger. I'd say that situation seems to be much approved & may help dispel the 'clique' label often used for OM. It would be good if some people could extend a higher level of courtesy to those with differing opinions & if you do think someone may be trolling it is best to just ignore them.

Spiritburner, thanks. I'd be shocked if you agreed with everything I said. That's the wife's job.

I've never been a troll and have no intention of being one. Life's too short and if I wanted to start an argument I know plenty of pubs where they love that sort of thing. I do get really annoyed at that accusation which has gone on for many months now.

Glad it's not just me that finds the cosy clique thing on here a bit uncomfortable.

Harry, I think you've been a little unfortunate and become a victim of your own forthright manner and the term 'Troll' has become a convenient label to pin on you. Don't beat yourself up about it, just get on with it, continue posting and I'm sure the nonsense will fizzle out.

Seems like theres a long history here ,far beyond this thread.
Two wrongs though do not make a right ,as I said before Darren was very wrong to haul up info about Harry ,it matters not that harry is not bothered about this ,it is not a trend that should be followed for anyone(others may be bothered).
Whatever provacation Harry feels ,it is and always will be wrong to resort to name calling certainly written with such venom.

I think it really is time to draw a line under this and stop troll acusations and stop gay and tosser retorts and just get on with it . Whatever it is :)
