There has been a further rock fall in Lords Rake on top of one earlier this year. This means the Rake is no VERY unstable and best avoided.

Well so long

I'm off to have a yomp up Scafell and risk life and limb to bring you some photos of Lords Rake. Well not Actualy risk life or limb as I'm far too much of a wimp for that, but i may risk being out of breath and maybe the odd graze.

I shall be back (touch wood).

Have a look for Andy's bruised and battered body up there in case he has fulfilled his dream....yuk

Well I've returned alive and hmm yes there has indeed been a new rockfall.

but as an outline. The wall to left of the detached block left by the earler rockfall has now collapsed. when it did this it had the following results.

a) it knocked the loose leaning block off its resting block causing it to drop about three feet further and crack some more in the process

b) sent Tons of rock down the rake

c) left even more Tons of rock in the top of the Rake waiting for a sparrow to fart and send the lot down the Rake.

i bet those rocks weigh tons!
