I pay good money for goods and expect a good product and service. I have a tent l bought from ARGOS 4 years ago, never laeked, never let me down (£14.95 not £300)
Note the dates Drew - 5 months to post a response on a website. Not the way to deal with a problem in my book. Don't know, of course, whether Phil had any direct response (which is how it should have been dealt in the first place) in the interim.
Phil, the point i was making is that at least he replied and gave details of how to sort it.
I understand the cost of "Quality" tents possibly better than most, and the expectations that go with a tent of that calibre.
Maybe you ought to write a letter to Richard and see what he comes up with. As most manufacturers/importers will not respond to issues such as this in open forum, the few that do have a good deal of respect for doing so from nearly all of the OM members that i know
As a point to note, I had a TN Quasar that got trashed by 70mph+ winds, poles broke and ripped the inner and the outer, also 2 years later had a flysheet on a North Face VE-25 go brittle and rip in heavy winds, both of these occured whilst wild camping in very unpleasant weather, forcing a de-camp and trudge back down the mountain at daft O'Clock to get the backup tent. I had no joy with either TN or TNF in getting replacements so i voted with my wallet and sought another manufacturer......CRUX abso-lutely-F'ing-Brilliant.
have you managed to crush a Crux yet? I just bumped up an old post about their impressive customer services and was wondering whether you managed to destroy yours yet? If not, they should be listing this in the spec ....'cruxster-proof construction'...
