This looks a totally wicked Smock, I have a LIM Ultimate which is amazing, but I reckon I might be upgrading my Jkt collection. Tried my local retailer, to find one but no luck, have to search further, they seem like Hens Teeth, a Trip to the Lakes might be in order !

Well, I think the problem is that it's only just been announced by Haglofs. It's not even on their website yet, so I suspect it's unlikely to make it to the shops for a while.

In fact, it's so new that they haven't got around to actually finishing the 'press release' about how it won an award before you could even buy it...

I managed to get one a month or so ago - my local Chester F&T had been expecting them in since early March and in the end I had to get them to order one in specially for me - as far as I can see they still haven't got any out on the rails....

It is excellent (ok, I'd have preferred a more subdued colour but I'm getting used to it, minor gripe - why couldn't Haglofs offer it in budgie green and a 'normal' colour like black or blue?).

I think Jon's review was just about spot on!!

The hood works very well, including the volume adjustment, the neck gives good protection or ventilation, the sleeves are long enough to use the thumb-loops. It's a shame the chest pocket is so small but then they set out to keep the weight down....

Speaking of which I think they claim 175g for a Large, amd my scales tip up at 185g which I think is pretty good considering some manufacturers' inaccuracies in that respect. (And the error could be with my scales!)

I reckon it's going to be great on the bike or for anything fast and unladen, I probably will use it for walking with a daypack, but I'm going to hold off from subjecting it to the rigours of a backpacking load, at least for a while :)

It is on the Haglofs website, look under "Intense Series".
Cotswolds have it in store, but not on the website. Planetfear have it, as do a few others.

There's one in the Glasgow Cotswolds. Clever cuff with thumb loop, but very very short at the front. So a good cut for wearing on a bike, or running, but I'd check the fit with a rucksack on and make sure it didn't ride up too high in front.

Ah yes, so it is. Good job I wasn't a customer trying to find a shell on their website, eh?

<rant>
I should be used to manufacturers creating arbitrary marketing categories by now, but Haglofs seem to have gone just that one step further; apparently organising products by normal base/mid/shell, only to add a few other categories whose products aren't included in the base/mid/shell categories.

Do they think we all work for their marketing departments, and we therefore know all their bonkers categories?

Oh, and if I do a 'Product Search' for 'shell', I still don't see the Oz. But I do see a couple of rucksacks, and a couple of pairs of approach shoes...

The classification thing can be a bit confusing, the Oz could also sit pretty reasonably in the LIM - Less Is More - category, but it's 'Intense' instead. I suppose it could be worse, but that would be even more confusing....

Funny you should mention LIM, Jon. Their LIM range is included in their 'normal' categories...

Aye aye, so the IT guys pressed the wrong button last week. They've replaced the old website with the new one which is still work in progress, just in time for Jon's review and the competition!

The new one will have everything listed in the layering system, but you will also be able to see all the Intense or Ultimate pieces as a range. So your <rant> will be null and void when the website is fininshed CP.

Right I'm away to dry some VERY wet kit after a weekend on Skye!!

Hope everyone had a good weekend,
Gus
