On tuesday night i was pitched on a hill just inland from Ravenglass.
There was heavy winds and driving rain all night. My tent (zRo Trek) never budged and not a drop of water got in, i thought of this thread and checked thoroughly but no problem at all.
After no reply from the suppliers (Spikeoutdoors) I was ready to send the tent back to Lightwave and buy a different brand. Not fussed about refund. Just wanted rid. Thankfully Carol at Lightwave gave details of their testers in Scotland (Good place to test a leaky tent!)
Thats currently where the tent is. Leaks have been detected on the seams which are being dealt with. I am looking forwards to having the tent back soon and will update again when it's been out in the wet.
Thank you for the help and contacts from this forum. Thanks to Lightwave and no thanks to Spikeoutdoors. I won't be using that shop again!
Tent returned. All seams watertight and spare sealant. Big thanks to Lightwave. Had to go to the top to get a response, but when it came it has strengthened what already seems (No pun intended) a good catalogue of customer service. Thanks again for the help from you lot on the forum and thanks to Lightwave (especially Carol)
Thanks for coming back with that Kale. I'm glad you got a proper resolution to the problem eventually.
It's a lesson I learned some time ago that going to the source is often best way to get good customer service; afterall nobody puts as much value in a brand's reputation as the owner!
