Sorry guys - not sure what the problem is but we're over here in Freidrichshafen at the moment at the Outdoors 2007 show.

Been trying to find out what the problem is but all the techies seem to have gone home for the weekend.

Instead of the Forum check out all our gear reports from the show in the Gear section of the website.

We'll get the forum up and running asap

LOL Paul. So you've seen it then?

Yeah - He's right in a way but it came over all pompous and patronising. As a time-served carpenter/joiner would be be fair of me to say DIY standards today are cr*p. :)

Check this

Is it the upper-class version of the Tiger Paws Thread?

Funny you should say that Paul. I had just noticed a remarkable similarity in literary style between Hugh and Child of God. My theory is that Hugh was CoG and was clever enough to let CoG use a few words more salty than Hugh's usual vocabulary.

Paul,
Do you realise what you have done? With your question you have confirmed Shug's conviction that literary competence is directly related to class, whatever class means.
:0(

As for this, "As a time-served carpenter/joiner would be be fair of me to say DIY standards today are cr*p. :)," you're asking to be crucified and then you'd have two things in common with CoG.
BTW I wonder where he is, probably going for long walks on all these floods and gathering fissures of men.

FGL

Yeah I missed that one, well done.

I'm just sitting here under the bridge waiting, so bring it on. Although As a time-served carpenter/joiner would it (be) be fair of me to say DIY standards today are cr*p. :), was just hypothetical comparison and being so much above that sort of thing I wouldn't stoop to any such thing (ha ha)

Do you realise what you have done? With your question you have confirmed Shug's conviction that literary competence is directly related to class, whatever class means.

I made no such confirmation (not intentionally anyway).Indeed there are a number of my subordiantes who have a better grasp of literacy than I do. They are shop floor workers and I run the department and supervise their bosses.

Frum - you may well be right.

So putting these comments together then; C of G is your working class HW.
