Hi Stephen,

Yes I can supply the 200/400 undersuits although they are not a stock item for me.  Delivery within about 7 days subject to availability.

Current UK RRP: 200g suit £110 & 400 suit £172.

Kind regards,

John

Durability of the Smartwool micro weight T-shirts looks questionable. One shirt has started to develop a hole at the front of the armpit. Interestingly I found it more comfortable to wear a Devold merino T-shirt (from the Norwegian store) under a Paramo shirt than a Smartwool one. There wasn't a lot in it but it just felt more comfortable.

Johnny G how much of the Woolpower range do you stock as some of it comes in different weights? I'm thinking of longjohns and socks and gloves for my father who's 79 and feels the cold these days. I've already bought him a Woolpower 400g vest and he likes it.

FAO Major Cynic (cool name btw)

All the Woolpower you see on my site is actually in stock with me here in Mansfield.  Lonjons are in stock in both 200g and 400g.  Socks in stock in 200g, 400g, 600g.  Mittens just available in 400g.

Click this link: http://wslackandsons.co.uk/woolpower/cat_29.html everything shown here is in stock with me currently.  The weather forecast for the week ahead looks great for Woolpower sales

Woolpower is very popular with people who suffer poor circulation and feel the cold.

Kind regards,

John

That's great JohnnyG. You're right to assume that my father has poor circulation. I'll probably be in touch to get some of the 600g weight socks, but after Xmas now to give him a chance to try out the 400g weight ones I've bought him as a Xmas pressie.

I'll be trying out some Woolpower longjohns soon so I may be ordering stuff for myself as well .

Given the current recession my best wishes for your business. Hope you benefit from the cold snap  and have a prosperous Xmas and New Year.

I've got quite a lot of the woolpower kit and have found it to be very good. The loop stitching definitely makes it warmer than similar garments, the socks are particularly toasty.

Woolpower say that the reason they don't do 100% merino is to improve durability and ease of care. They are contractors to various military and civil authorities and their kit has to withstand a high number of "difficult" washes with no special care given prior to being accepted by whichever force wants it - something which is unachievable with 100% wool apparently. All of mine gets chucked in with the main wash, tumble dried etc etc and is still looking good as new.

Thanks John. I'll be in touch via email.

I have a 200 top that has a few 'cosmetic loose threads'. This doesn't however affect the superior design function or performance of this product which is manufactured by a family owned firm in a factory in Sweden not China or the far east (Smartwool, Icebreaker etc). Woolpower is heavy on substance rather than marketing however that's not to say they don't have a nice brochure available: http://www.woolpower.se/en/asp/kladigratt_1.asp

PLEASE BE WARNED:

WOOLPOWER 800g. Arctic socks have a BIG BIG PROBLEM , that pending Customer's need to know about.

I have four different pair ("NEW" NEVER WORN) in different colors and all four pairs, (that's eight socks) have TWO HOLES in EVERY SOCK in the same EXACT location on, all EIGHT SOCKS!  I couldn't BELIEVE it?

You can CLEARLY SEE, where the holes are located by turning the 800g. socks inside out and follow the wool flume "pullers" to the exact hole locations. I called out US distributor, Grand Forest about the problem, and they requested I send the socks in for an exchange. I complied and got no satisfaction from them!  Grand Forest didn't have an answer as to WHY there are holes in the Woolpower 800g. socks?  But apparently there's a problem, as Grand forest too had holes in theirs on the shelf! They said they were sorry and sent me the socks back, with HOLES IN! OMG!  What a company!

I emailed Woolpower CEO, Production Manager and Export Manager and got absolutely no reply or satisfaction!

I will NEVER ... EVER  .... BUY "WOOLPOWER" product AGAIN!

They will be added to my "Do not buy list"

Better check yours if you got them!
