No rope is required for the pinnacle on Parkhouse Hill. There are a couple of lines up which I would say are a grade 2 scramble. Elbow ridge is not recommended for vertigo sufferers like me.
Although I have yet to see this (now legendary!) article I have either seen or done the routes mentioned and they probably don't warrant much further explanation to be honest. Cicerone did tell me they were considering something like a Peak District scrambling guide but it would be some time in the development if it occurred at all, and that was some time ago. The bloke is probably still out looking for them. In the meantime Doug Brown's excellent "Dark Peak Hikes" is well worth acquiring.
That's good news, I've been periodically checking the Cicerone website for something like this for a while. Can you tell us anything about the format, does it include harder scrambles, or routes that incorporate a bit of scrambling, etc? Look forward to seeing it.
I have the original TGO with the article in, to be honest I'd wait for the book.
Although the lead and double page photos (from the article) are high up on Winnats Pass, none of the scrambles there are mentioned, they are mostly damp clough scrambles as a prelude to a walk on the moors.
Routes will range from 'scrambly' walks to more difficult rock climbs, and easy winter routes. Don't have a full list of the routes yet, but will including classics such as Wilderness Gully East and Wildboar Clough.
