Thanks for the free advert Jon! Just to reinforce his advert, the address for the website is, www.mixedroutes.org.uk As Jon says ther's a rolling programme of meets already organised, with lots more in the pipeline. Have a look and join us. Go on, you know you want to...

I cannot resist! it looks too much fun to be without, I'll be back in a couple of weeks or so and I will deffo be joining, thanks. who is who in the photo?
It's Lady Penelope, we decided an inpromptu tug of war match was in order and used her as the rope...
Jeannie is the bridge, and Andy Wallace is on the left. Can't rememer who's on the right. There's all sorts of OM regulars pictures there on the Gallery.
lol...poor Jeanie. I meant the pic of everyone standing together on the Join Us page.
 Left to right:
Simon Kirwan, Bob(?), Jon Cook, Dave Olney, Andy Wallace, me, Jeannie C and Alex.
Not sure if its Bob or not though.

Thanks Simon. its a good pic.

It was taken at Wasdale last year.
It was wet.
 Very wet.
Wetter than a wet thing during a sponsored drown.
But fun none the less.

oh my goodness! wetter than a wet thing.. so funny, its gonna be a long couple of weeks not coming here..lol.
The one next to Simon K is Phil N. Bob was in the shower or something. On the 'human bridge' photo, Bob's brown legs are behind Andy, then me, then Phil again. Getting me across streams is always something of a trial...can't begin to imagine why....maybe cos I'm only 'ickle?
Ah, sorry! Forgot Phil was there. Doh.
Perhaps in future Jeannie we could try the Acme catapult method?

The Tryfan Bach photo brings back memories. 4 of us trying to use 1 rope, in boots, in the rain. Took about 2 hours! My nephew Barry left his waterproof in his rucksack and was wetter than....The rope wasn't long enough and I waited on the first ledge. After I had dodged a flying krab and chatted to lots of passers-bye, they threw down the rope which get stuck in the crack about 5 metres above me. Got up eventually though.
Great fun!

You going up Snowy next weekend? Can I come?
Not sure yet exactly what we are doing...Probably some scrambling on or around the Gylderau/Carneddau. Also not sure on spaces.
You'll have to ask Si C, he's organising the accom.
Don't suppose accomodatopn is much of an issue when you live in Bangor. However, I think there's a spare bed on Sat night but not on Friday.
Are you thinking of joining Dan?
If you're talkin about the "Not the Snowdon Horseshoe weekend", prob not going up Snowy itself.
Dave M has got first dibs on the spare accom. (2 beds fri, 1 on sat but theres a campsite at the same place as the bunkhouse.

Yes, accom is not really a problem as I live in Bangor! I think I saw Feb 21 on the website, ie next Saturday.
I'm a little concerned about the way you've organised yourselves into a club. You're not saying that to come out on what essentially were OM meets, you have to join a club now, are you?
Actually this isn't an OM meet, it's a mixed routes one that you've asked to come on...
I don't think there's any real conflict here. The benefits of being a MR member are things that we can't offer through OM, like BMC affiliation and insurance plus discounts and access to mountaineering club huts. I'm more than happy for Mixed Routes events to be publicised and discussed on the forum though I'm certainly not telling anyone to join or not to join for that matter.
Anyhow, I'm going along and possibly the redhead also, so may see you there Dan.
