What do you think of the colours for Lowe's new eVENT stuff? Funky or just plain mad, what do your reckon.

They've really dropped the ball. LA are going to have trouble selling those colours.

And the ranges are too gimmicky and confusing. Not what I'd expect - or want - from Lowe.

I think Berghaus is turing out the best gear these days. That's quite weird, as I used to have the same reservations about Berghaus as I now do about Lowe, but they've sorted themselves out.

Not keen on the colours, but as I'm colourblind I'm probably a pretty poor judge!

Should colour really matter on a mountain jacket anyway?

Am I right in saying that Lowe have finalised these designs BEFORE the user test programme has even started? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick again....

Don't think they're totally finalised, viz, the detailing can be changed, but the basics are pretty much as is, as I understand it.

The second jacket, the Elite, feels very nice on. As you may or may not know, there are actually colour forecasters out there whose job is to select what colours are in or not. I reckon though that one of the reasons Lowe has gone for the slightly funky styling you normally get with snowsport kit is to differentiate their stuff from other 3-ply membranes begining with G and ending in X. Trying to get a visual distinction and make their stuff stand out a little.

Funky has got to be the most generouis term I've heard for something with the styling of a 70's shell suit...

As a guy who has heavy Ventile kit, then before xmas I was smacked down with a herniated disc, I have now gone lite , golite's kit is pretty similar in the colour dept.I don't usually like in ya face colours, even though I do own old orange & black LA flash jkt !I do like the blue and green jkt jon is wearing. As for Berghaus I feel that the quality that Berghaus once had right through their product range is somewhat lacking these days.

Too true about Berghaus Pete. There was a time their Storm boots were mad in Italy.
